PDF Documents - Using Bookmarks Acrobat Adobe Reader makes navigation in large PDF documents and files easier by using Bookmarks. Bookmarks reside in the Navigation Panel, one of the tabs along the left side of your document windows in Adobe Reader. The bookmarks form a clickable table of contents. Since bookmarks are added by the author, not all documents and files have bookmarks. If you do not see the Bookmark tab in the Navigation Panel the file does not contain bookmarks. When the Bookmarks tab is visible in the Navigation Panel:

Click the Bookmarks tab to open the Bookmarks navigation pane in Adobe Reader. The bookmarks will be displayed. For meeting notes and minutes the Bookmark name reflects the date of the meeting in the format MMDDYY.
